I do not remember a time when music was not the center of it all. Over 25 years ago I picked up my first acoustic instrument and quickly realized my talent. Making music was not enough. I needed to explore it, seek it out and find it myself. I have been digging in crates since I was a preteen. I could get lost in the record section of any thrift store, flea market or shopping mall. Then CDs, Napster and MP3s came along. My desire to dig only grew. By middle school, I was known for being the one discovering new music, artists and bands. It was the age of burning CDs, so sharing music was accessible and easy. But at the end of the day, I was always the curator. I was always the DJ.
Over the last 10 years my focus has been in dance music; specifically drum and bass. I have been djing, curating guest features and actively participating in the ‘Rave Renaissance’ we are currently seeing in the United States. I have always been here for the music and built connections and relationships with ravers and artists alike across the USA in an effort to build (or rebuild) the drum and bass community. I truly believe in the power of the underground. It is the foundation of all that we have, and I want to represent that through my art and writings.
